Rules: Necessary, but occasionally taken with a grain of salt if breaking them benefits the story or the "Rule of Cool."
Min/Maxing: I advise against it. Balancing encounters for a min/maxed player puts the rest of the party at risk, and keeping things easy makes the game boring.
Engagement: I love players who are engaged in the narrative and provide their own unique take on the world.
The Spotlight: I strive to give everyone a fair shot at the spotlight. Truly cinematic moments happen when players respect each other's moments without trying to hijack them.
